This was my first time dining at La Cabrera. I went with my best friend and we ordered from the Miami Spice menu. For appetizers I ordered the burrata (delicious, fresh, and a great portion for 2 to share) and my friend ordered the provoleta (portion was small but tasty). They brought us a small platter with different potato purees and a corn casserole, all lacked salt/seasoning. For our entrees she ordered the 10 oz filet which was cooked to perfection while I ordered the 14 oz NY strip steak. It was cooked to temperature but could have used a better char on the outside as the steak looked awfully pale with only light grill marks. The filet was definitely the better option. Each entree came with 2 sides each and we selected all 4 options to share. The potato gratin was our favorite. By the time we ordered dessert we were already feeling full but she opted for the basque cheesecake and I ordered the flan, out of the two the cheesecake was the better choice. Without the dulce the leche the flan didn't taste like much. Overall portions and service was great.

Our side dishes, including the potato purées and corn casserole, are intentionally seasoned lightly because many of our guests prefer to adjust the seasoning to their own taste. Second time we tried this place for dinner and it was delicious. Great wine and all of face Argentine classics...empanadas, morcilla.... We will definitely be back
