Two locations welcome denizens of the Windy City including this West Argyle spot which provides a simple and unfussy way to spend your day or evening with some fine eats. Local press acclaim and Zagat-ratings have continued to mark Hai Yen as a go-to spot for regular dining appointments. The people come here for a menu that infuses classic Vietnamese flavors to create the likes of Hai Yen's famous Bo La Lot, marinated ground beef wrapped in a Hawaiian leaf then grilled. It's a delightful option, but so are the traditional beef noodle soups (Pho) and exotic salads like the Lotus Root. The menu features more than enough variety to cater to almost any craving, including vegetarian dishes, fresh seafood, noodles, and more. You can even get into the action and fun of cooking Vietnamese food with fondue pots, soup pots, or grills right at your own table.   • I'm obsessed with the Hawaiian Leaf Sausage starter and the Lemon Grass Beef Self-wrap. It comes with a mountain of lettuce and fresh herbs. The Lemon Grass Beef is so good.
